Common questions about elearning & education testing

SCORM compliance testing validates the full communication lifecycle between your eLearning content and the LMS: initialisation handshake, data model interactions (completion status, score, suspend data, session time), and termination. We test against both SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 (3rd and 4th edition) specifications using the SCORM Test Track and manual LMS verification. We also test edge cases that commonly cause field failures: resume after browser crash, completion status on partially complete content, score reporting for branching scenarios with variable paths, and LMS-side handling of out-of-spec SCORM packages.

Yes. We test against Moodle (including Moodle Workplace), Canvas, Blackboard Learn, TalentLMS, Cornerstone OnDemand, SAP SuccessFactors Learning, Docebo, and LearnUpon. Each platform has its own SCORM handling quirks, browser compatibility requirements, and iframe sandboxing behaviour. We replicate your target LMS environment for testing rather than using a generic SCORM conformance checker, which misses LMS-specific integration failures.

We test the full assessment lifecycle: question display and rendering, answer submission and validation, branching logic and conditional navigation, score calculation (weighted, partial credit, and penalty marking schemes), pass/fail threshold application, retry and reattempt logic, randomisation (question pools, answer order), and result reporting to the LMS. We build equivalence partitions and boundary value tests for scoring edge cases — particularly important for professional certification platforms where incorrect scoring has regulatory implications.

Yes. We test educational content against WCAG 2.2 AA using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) for blind learners, screen magnification for partially sighted learners, keyboard navigation for motor-impaired learners, and caption/transcript validation for deaf and hard of hearing learners. We also assess cognitive accessibility — reading level, navigation consistency, error recovery — which is particularly important for learners with dyslexia, ADHD, or memory impairments. For publicly funded educational institutions, WCAG 2.2 AA compliance is a legal requirement under the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations.

We model the expected concurrent user load for your peak event — a scheduled assessment release, a live webinar, a mandatory compliance training deadline — and run load tests simulating that concurrency against your LMS and content delivery infrastructure. We measure session establishment time, content load time, assessment submission latency, and LMS database write throughput under concurrent load. We also test graceful degradation: if the LMS approaches capacity, does it queue requests cleanly or fail in ways that corrupt learner data?
